THE MUSIC MINISTRY OF FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IS LED BY CHOIR DIRECTOR JERRY SPANN, ORGANIST LYRA CRAPPS, AND AMANDA FORD. ALL ARE ACCOMPLISHED, PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, WHOSE EFFORTS BRING RENOWN TO THE MUSIC PROGRAM OF THE CHURCH.

The Chancel Choir is made up of a number of talented and dedicated individuals whose regular and faithful attendance at Choir Practice and worship service makes possible a supurb music program.

The children's choirs are directed by Lyra Crapps, assisted by Amanda Ford.  The children's choir presents several programs during the church year, including Christmas and Easter season offerings, and a special spring performance at the close of the school year.

Handbells, also under the direction of Lyra, accompany the organist and choir at worship services on occasions during the year.

During the Autumn, Winter, and Spring, the Chancel Choir is in constant preparation for special occasions and events, and practices "serious" musical numbers.  However, during the Summer months, there is typically a more relaxed mood, and time for some fun music.
Although the choir is usually robed for Sunday Morning service, the music reflects a lighter tone during the summer months.
