FROM THE WEBMASTER

DECEMBER 4, 2000

While working on the website over the weekend, I discovered that some of the work was not getting posted as it should.  Also, I discovered that some links seemed to call up obsolete or outdated frames.  After some consternation, I found that some frames were beind sent to one site, some to another.  I had assumed that a site transition had taken place whereby the parent site (LQJRS.COM) had been redirected to another location (LQJRS.COM.CNCHOST.COM)  as I had been advised by Concentric Networks.  However, it appears not that calls to FUMCTROY.ORG were not being redirected, although LQJRS.COM is being redirected to the new host.  Thus, links which appeared in the site sometimes called LQJRS.COM, sometimes LQJRS.COM.CNC. . . . etc.  I think that this has been corrected, but there are still two sites.  I am trying to syncronize them.

Things I have learned:

1.  Do not bring down documents and edit or append them ie newbuilding.htm and save them in the working directory.  This creates problems with links, which are translated as references to www sites.  Be sure that the documents in the working directory are the same as those in the website.  Edit or append them, then upload them to the website.  That way relative links are maintained.

2.  Be sure where your files are going.  Label the remote sites on the ftp program (I use wsftp pro) so that files wind up where they belong.

I hope that visitors will bear with me while I try to work out the bugs.  If you have any problems navigating the site, or seem to be getting the wrong frames, let me know.
